Why hasn’t fall come any faster? I know some of you are still enjoying the pleasures of hot Summer nights, but here has been so hot…always! Cooler days are in my wish list these days; and while I wait for them to come, my interior décor will get a fall intervention. Today I’ll be sharing 8 things anyone can do to bring that fall feeling into your home.

1. Scented is better
Candles come in so many sizes and fragrances, and Better Homes & Gardens candles at Walmart come in an amazing variety. I’ve found that the best way to bring that fall sensation into our home is by lighting up a “Warm Pumpkin Cookies”. The smell is incredible and now I want to start baking!
I wanted to elevate the look of this candle so I placed it inside this beautiful “Metal Wood Hurricane” also from Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart.

2. Toss some pillows:
The more the merrier, or so they say. I found these amazing pillows all from (Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart) and right now I think I need more. Love their color specially the Gray Velvet Crystals Pillow one because it has a delicate pattern made of crystals that really enhances the look. The Better Homes & Gardens Taupe Medallion Decorative Pillow with Tassels also plays so well paired with the Greek Key Chenille one. Remember to mix styles to generate an interesting look.

3. Throw in a throw
Nothing says “fall ready” better than a throw. And while I won’t be curling up in it for a while, I think leaving one nearby screams comfort and warmth. The gray herringbone patter of this Better Homes and Gardens Woven Fringe Throw (available at Walmart) goes perfectly with the rest of my décor.

4. I’ve never met a pumpkin I didn’t like
And this Metal Tealight Holder (in the form of a pumpkin) from Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart is welcoming my guests in the entryway and saying “hello fall”! The tealights will bring in a soft and warm light during the night, perfect for this season.

5. Update your curtains
The easiest way to update the look of a space is by changing the curtains. I added these Better Homes and Gardens Solid Basket Weave in Light School Gray to mix with my pillows and the rest of the accessories in the room. Its texture is another great way to incorporate warmth into a fall decor.

6. Twisting the classics
Adding battery operated candles are also a great way to bring in fall vibes. These Better Homes and Gardens Flameless LED Pillar Candles 3-Pack Marble do just that but with a modern twist.

7. An apple a day
No time for baking pies? No worries, these “Fresh Orchard Apples” wax cubes are the perfect match for my kitchen’s Better Homes & Gardens Wax Warmer. I love its simple lines and white ceramic.

8. Bring your lanterns inside
I’ve brought my old Better Homes and Gardens Crossbar Metal Outdoor Lantern inside and placed them over the small entryway table (see how I’ve used them before here). Instead of placing candles inside, I’ve added some paper pumpkins and wheat stalks inside. Love the harvest look of them now!

As you can see, bringing in fall into your décor is not that easy and doesn’t require tons of pumpkins, pies or apples. Using accessories that will bring a comfort look and warmth and that can be used for winter as well, will do the trick! Are you ready for the season? Bring warmth into your fall decor

Velvet and faux fur pillows

I'm so honored to be part of the HomeGoods Entushiast Pinterest board where, as a blogger, I've received compensation by HomeGoods. The opinions stated here are my own. For more updates on their products and decor ideas, you can always follow them on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram.

A couple of weeks ago I started looking for some accessories that would bring in a fall look into the decor. As you may all know, I'm always attracted to simple styles that can delicately speak of a season. But I also love when these pieces can very well work year-round. Here are 4 great finds from HomeGoods and that will help you in bringing in warmth into your fall decor.

Hurricane vase with battery candle

Light up the room:
Fall means comfort and bringing that feeling into your home is as easy as lighting up a candle. Scented ones add another level of warmth and you can always fashioned the fragrance to your taste. From white pumpkin to apple pie, sky is the limit when it comes to scented candles.
I also take into consideration the vessels because after it's burned down, it can easily be reused to store away jewelry, cottons for the bathroom, etc.
You can also create a similar atmosphere with battery operated candle because these can also bring in that soft light effect. I found at HomeGoods a beautiful hurricane vase with an opaque surface that enhances the light of these types of candles. This piece makes the perfect accessory for bringing that fall look into the bedroom.

Frame agate rocks

Rock the look:
Rocks are excellent pieces for creating a stylish statement. They come in a variety of colors and some of them are believed to have healing properties. On this room I used two framed agate slabs which I found at HomeGoods. The gray color provides a soothing sensation but, because they are natural elements, they also bring warmth into the decor.

Tribal inspired vase silk flowers

Silk or natural:
When decorating and setting a welcoming look in a bedroom, specially on guestrooms, it really doesn't matter which way you go. Flowers are a special way to make others feel at home and to bring in texture into the decor. You can create a statement that speaks about your style by choosing a beautiful vase. I love this set of silk flowers inside a tribal-inspired vase that I found at HomeGoods. A great way to say "welcome"!

Velvet and faux fur bed pillows

Inexpensive luxury:
There's nothing better that a soft decorative pillow. Fabrics such as velvet are a great way to start incorporating fall into your decor and also a perfect item for transitional seasons. I mixed these brown pillows with the ones that I already own to enhance texture an to create a warm feeling. Choosing velvet for some items in your decor will give you that luxury look and you'll find at HomeGoods some beautiful and affordable options!

As you can see, getting ready for fall and bringing warmth into your decor is a breeze. Just remember to choose pieces that speak to your home's style.

Fall home tour: cool colors and warm textures

Sep 6, 2017

Fall wall shelves

Welcome to my fall home tour. So happy to see you all coming from Designs by Laila'fascinating home. I know she must have provided you with incredible ideas for your home decor.
We all know summer is just about to end, and I'm so ready for cooler (or perhaps, less hellish) temperatures. Although we won't feel those low 70° F for a while here in Miami, changing my home's style will certainly bring in the feeling of those desired weather conditions.

Because this past season has been so hot, this time around I've decided on a cooler palette of grays combined with textures to add warmth and interest. Starting from my front door, you'll quickly notice my fabric pumpkins wreath (from HomeGoods) that will give you a better idea of this year's look and feel.

I also updated our wall shelves by adding some of fall's most iconic pieces like pumpkins, pears and some silk fall leaves (we don't get real ones in this area but these from Pottery Barn look amazing).
As you can see, wood was the main character in most of the pieces I used throughout this setting.

Never our new futon/sofa from The Novogratz, I combined several decorative pillows with an array of interesting visual textures (all from HomeGoods). These are in gold, gray with an intricate stitching and a dark sand color with a patterns very similar to cane (a wood-like material used on antique chairs).

Outdoor lanterns can be used inside and be filled with harvest inspired items like these wheat stalks and some mini paper pumpkins (both from HomeGoods).

One of my favorite items this year were these lanterns from Better Home & Gardens at Walmart. I've used these on our patio before, but this time I'm using them inside by filling them with pumpkins and some wheat stalks for a different look.

Fall diner table

I've went ahead and set our HomeDecorator's table with a simple fall decor. This dough bowl from Pottery Barn has been such a versatile accessory in our decor. In the past I've used it as a cradle for flowers, I've decorated it with some faux succulents and even placed Christmas ornaments inside of it. For this table, I've placed some plastic pumpkins and a couple of wheat stalks for a quick and effortless centerpiece.

Around this I used my Ashmore plates from Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart over the faux wood chargers. These ceramic leave mini-plates (from the dollar spot on Target) added interest on this setting. I also wrapped the flatware with Trader Joe's "Fearless Flyer" and added a simple wheat stalk. These little details make the table setting more interesting and give guests something to talk about.

Since it is so early in the season there are other areas in our home that I'm still working on. I'll be sharing these soon with you all. In the meantime, go visit Joan from 2 Ladies & A Chair. I'm sure you'll fall in love with her style!
