Late spring table setting with a fresh twist

Late spring natural table setting

Sitting in the outdoors is something we really enjoy as a family (…well, at least my husband and I do like sitting outside while the girls run around). But the thing that I personally enjoy the most is creating an atmosphere that will feel bright and crisp but most of all, welcoming.
For a late spring soirée the table needed to be set with elements that will bring in that fresh look of the season. So, some citrus fruits were the first thing that came into my mind paired with white dishes and clear glasses; all things in a neutral palette.

I made the center of this table stand out with a flower arrangement set inside a 3 quart plastic pitcher from +BHG Live Better at Walmart filled with limes. You can find the tutorial here. This centerpiece became the concept of the entire table while setting the look and colors.

Around this flower arrangement I used several glass lanterns. I admire how versatile is an accessory like this one and can only imagine how many uses one can give to it. Battery operated candles surrounded by real fern leaves from our patio were placed inside both an 11″ glass lantern and a 7″ one (both from BHG at Walmart),  This simple arrangement reinforced even more that natural and fresh look I wanted to achieved. On the other 7″ glass lantern I placed some big lemons to make a color statement.

Set on one of the sides of the table, a dispenser filled with fresh white sangria, perfect for this type of weather. Also in this side a galvanized steel ice bucket in a material that perhaps evokes that relax farm style.

For the dinnerware I used rustic white melamine plates (from +BHG Live Better at +Walmart) which, because of their basic color, will go with any decor or style. They have a subtle sand color line that surrounds and decorates the border and that gives them just the right amount of elegance. Inside the matching cereal plate I placed the napkin (folded into a square, no need to make an eccentric folding) an on top of it, a lemon with a small branch of eucalyptus, just to continue with the theme.
Elements like emerald green glass cups and my favorite, large green leaves in between the plates give this table the final natural look.
With just a couple of natural elements and some basic accessories I was able to assembled an inviting and fresh table setting (singing birds in the back included!).
