Christmas Homes Blog Tour 2016

Welcome everyone! I hope you had a blast at Summer’s house over at “She Leaves a Little Sparkle“. She always finds a way to add a magical touch to everything she styles and creates. For awhile now I’ve been trying to hide my excitement for the upcoming home tour. I think it’s a miracle I haven’t exploded by now. But today I can share with you an amazing lineup of bloggers whose homes are included in this 2016 “Home for the Holidays; Blog Tour”. Oh, and keep on reading for an exciting tree giveaway at the end of this post.

Christmas Homes Blog Tour 2016

So now that I’ve shared this amazing list of the “best bloggers on the block”, let me welcome you into my home. This year I’m trying something a little bit different by including a second tree that almost seems to be the one greeting everyone from the door. Love coming back home and just standing in the entrance to see how this beauty glows. But I’ll share more on it later on the post.

Another novelty in this year’s Christmas decor are our new “INK + IVY Waldorf Alligator Faux Leather Lounge Accent Chair” from Lamps Plus. These sculptural seats elevate the entire look of our living room by providing a modern accent and creating an interesting contrast of styles against our 1938 fireplace. Their faux leather seems so real and they’re incredibly comfortable. My husband and I love sitting here and talk about the day’s events.

To set this area I also added the “Mandovi Cowhide AL03 Rug” from Rugs USA which provided the perfect base for my design. The geometric pattern of this rug became the perfect complement for the “INK + IVY Waldorf Alligator Faux Leather Lounge Accent Chair” and at the same time was the perfect match for the new London mirror from Grandin Road.

Just like the rug, the geometrical design of the mirror was the perfect canvas for the creation of our simple and minimal mantle decor. To enhance the height of the mirror even more, I added a set of two metal reindeer also from Grandin Road. This vertical alignment of elements helped in creating a visual illusion of higher walls in our small living room. A 10′ natural magnolia garland from The Magnolia Company was all that this mantle needed. The hunter green and copper of the leaves added just the right touch of color.

Over our foyer table I kept things quiet by using golden and metallic elements that go so well with the wood. Over the mirror a “Gold Magnolia Wreath” from Grandin Road seems to replicate the fireplace area.

I’ve already set the dinner table so you are cordially invited to stay and eat with us. And while we’re here, let me tell you how easy it was to create this centerpiece. Through the years I’ve been collecting Christmas mercury glass trees and I’ve used them everywhere. But this year I’ve found a set of three at Grandin Road that light up with batteries. So I gathered all my trees and set the new ones in front so that at nights they would be the main characters of the setting. To finish this centerpiece, I only added a couple of natural Christmas tree branches to bring in the soft fragrance of he season.

Over the plates, which I kept simple by using grays and whites, I placed a folded dark green fabric napkin and decorated it with another natural Christmas tree branch and an adorable pear ornament. Love how this simple piece glitters with the incoming light.

Here in the kitchen I once again opted for simplicity by just hanging a pine needle tree garland over the window and a mix of cute small houses to enhance the sill. At nights most of them can be lit either with batteries or a simple battery operated tealight. You can see more of this kitchen here

Now about this amazing tree from the King of Christmas. This is a “6.5′ King Fraser Fir Slim Quick Shape with 500 LED warm white lights” and its size and width were perfect for our small home. I decorated it with some rustic handmade metal bells from HomeGoods and additional metallic ornaments. I also placed three wooden words to add character and a whimsy detail to the tree.

Another room I really enjoyed decorating for Christmas was my daughters’ bedroom. While I kept it simple with a “Winter Wonderland” sort of theme, the details around were what made this room so appealing to the little ones. You can read all about this room here.

While I can’t wait for Christmas day to arrive, I would rather prefer to live up these couple of days in slow-motion; because when things are starting the get good, it’s almost time to go! Hope you’ve enjoyed this tour and don’t forget that there are lots of fun and amazing decor tips over at my good friend Oscar Bravo Home. I can’t wait to catch you over there!

Oscar, I couldn't passed them! I've had one for many months now in the entrance of our house. But when I saw these in a smaller scale at @HomeGoods, I couldn't resist! I think they add a vintage vibe to my tree's decor. Thanks for stopping by amigo!
