I’m so honored to be part of the HomeGoods Entushiast Pinterest board where, as a blogger, I’ve received compensation by HomeGoods. The opinions stated in the “Spring ready bathroom organization tips” post are my own. Organization is a term that for us small house owners, takes a real and strong meaning. We’re constantly trying to find new ways to make our homes feel spacious and decluttered. We don’t take little nooks and those awkward spaces under the bed for granted. Instead we find great potential in them. And because we all have one of these troublesome areas, today I’ll be sharing some spring ready bathroom organization tips.
Our bathroom has gone through a lot ever since we bought this house almost 4 years ago. After it’s great rebirth, we’ve tried to make the most of this small room. From changing it’s color to adding a variety of wall art, every little change has helped this room fell more spacious. But one thing that has saved it from looking like a mess has been storage.
I’m a true advocate of using organic details in the decor, and baskets made of natural fibers are my favorite. You can find seagrass, hyacinth or even madras to name a few. These can bring interesting textures into the space while being an element of organization.
Under the vanity
Here is where the action takes place. This time around I added two baskets with handles to the top shelf that might give the impression of drawers. Inside I was able to accommodate paper rolls giving me the opportunity to toss the plastic bags in which they came. I also used other baskets with lids to place my husband’s personal care product and the other for “hair stuff”.
On the second shelf I added 2 additional baskets; we’ll call one of them the “all purpose” and the other the “women’s property”. On the “all purpose” I was able to add a plastic set of mini baskets that can be easily access and where I stored most the nail related products. This works so great because I was able to divide the muted/light colors from the red/pinks and depending on the mood, I can chose that particular mini-basket.
In the “women’s property” I placed two smaller baskets with different purposes. One of them has handles so I can easily take my brushes and hair dryers anywhere while the other has a lid to keep those feminine personal items hidden. (Baskets from HomeGoods)
On the vanity
I’ve always loved the apothecary jars because these are so versatile. I use these to keep toilet paper and soap at hand as well as some cotton swaps. I love the idea that I don’t have to keep any boxes or plastic bags that can create such a messy look in such a small space. (Apothecary jars from HomeGoods)
On the wall shelves
Once again these baskets with handles are so great to place towels. These are a larger version of the ones I’m using under the vanity and are the perfect size to keep almost 24 towels in total! (Baskets from HomeGoods)
On the walls
I used to keep our towels in a handmade wood ladder that I build a while ago. Although I love how it looked in this space, I was only able to place 2 towels. So I added 3 hooks in the wall that will not only allow more towels, but these will get to dry faster now.
Final tip
If you are tired of seeing those multicolored shampoo, conditioner, hair treatment, body gels, etc inside your shower, replace these with some hand soap dispenser. I found these on the kitchen area at HomeGoods.
Small spaces and specially bathrooms can turned into a challenging task when it comes to organization. But, finding great storage tools and using your creativity will help you in creating a spacious and tidy area.

January 29, 2018 at 9:26 pmSuch a genius idea to use soap dispensers for shampoo. I’ve been struggling with finding bottles how to make my shampoo pretty. Now I know exactly what to do!!! THANK YOU!

January 30, 2018 at 9:38 pmWow, I’m so happy you are using this idea. I had the same situation for years and I hated the look of bottles on the window sill. So it was either that horrible view or putting them away and going into the trouble of taking them out each time I needed them, phew! So really, these bottles were perfect for this area and I was lucky enough to find 3 in the same style.
Again, glad to know you liked this and thank you so much for stopping by!
