Hello friends and if you’re coming from Judy atΒ Life Is Better At Home, welcome! A new holiday always brings new opportunities to make things different. This year’s Easter table decor will have a natural vibe but of course, I will add some seasonal icons in favor of my kids’ preferences. Simple and organic has define my style for quite some time, so it comes to no surprise that this Easter kids friendly table setting will have both textures and plants included in the menu.
Start from the center out
One thing that I’ve always liked to do when creating any table setting is to start from the center. In the past I’ve done this and it has made the arrangement of the entire decor a piece of cake. This year I found at HomeGoods some amazing galvanized metal planters that I knew will look great as a center piece. The best part is that afterwards I can use these in my patio or any other place around the home; talk about versatility!
Inside these planters I placed a fern and an agave, both faux plants I found at HomeGoods. These came in a ceramic planter, but because I wanted to placed them inside the galvanized metal one, I was left with an awkward view of the interior. To cover this up I used moss and some moss covered rocks. You can both these products at a craft store.
On the sides of these planters I placed two ceramic bunny planters with some real succulents from our patio. Mixing up real plants with faux is perfect when trying to work within a budget or simply to keep things simple and clean.
A golden and nested surprise
Like those plastic eggs hidden in the garden, these chocolate golden version are committed to surprise guests of all ages. To make this setting even more interesting, I placed them inside small ceramic baskets filled with “Natural Wood Excelsior Shavings” (those used for crafting purposes).
I placed these on top of some marble petite cheese boards that I have to say are the cutest I’ve ever seeing! These came in a set of 2 and was one of those great finds from HomeGoods.
Mix textures for a punch of interest
On this Easter kids table setting I incorporated texture throughout the accessories. For me the pieces that brought that punch of texture were the fabric napkins and the placemats. For a subtle impact, I used light gray napkins and let the fringes make all the talking.
I love these braided natural Hyacinth placemats and have used it several times now because of their texture. Here they frame the white of the dishes marvelously creating a great background.
I also added theseΒ wood disposable (and biodegradable) cutlery to accent the setting and mix of textures even more.
When the table is set
Finally and after adding some additional accessories without making this setting feel crowded, this table is ready for my guests. The mix of greens and basic ceramic whites against the wood and other textures really creates an interesting decor. This Easter kids table setting is one of my favorite ones so far!
