Decor Living Room Spring

Bringing spring into the living room

There are lots of ways one can bring spring inside the home. From adding flowers and plants (for a fresh look) to changing the furniture arrangement, the idea is to create a lighter atmosphere for the season. I like bringing spring into the living room before the rest of our house. This time I added indigo blue accessories to complement my neutral palette along other pieces that will enhance my decor style.

Plants and flowers

There’s no better feeling than creating a fresh atmosphere at home. Plants and flowers can always provide this. I normally bring some of our smaller plants inside during this season to enhance the look of the decor. Choosing the perfect planter is always a must when bringing these beauties inside. The one that I’m using in the fireplace was a great find from HomeGoods.

Sometimes I love to mix them up with faux plants and flowers (I’m loving this fern from HomeGoods) to add lush in my surroundings.

Adding a touch of blue

After moving the furniture around, my next move to bringing spring into the living room would be to add color. I usually fall for the neutrals, but having a tone to play around enhances the decoration. This year I’m all about indigo blue, although it can visually feel strong, it brings in a fresh feeling. I added this color throughout the living room by changing the curtains and adding some decorative pillows.

The pillows are my favorite! I found these at HomeGoods and I’m loving the denim fabric and geometric pattern. They mix so well with the “cane inspired pattern” ones I bought a couple of months ago.

These shelves also had a spring refresh. By adding some tones of blue with accessories, this little nook came to life!

Bringing spring into the living room… and dining area

I couldn’t resist myself and decided to pull in a bit of spring from the living room into the dining area. In this area I also changed the curtains and added some magnolia faux branches to continue with that fresh look.

I’m sure many of you are excited for this new season. And to keep that excitement flowing, don’t forget to visit my friends for more amazing spring decor ideas:

It’s crazy how closely you captured ME and everything I consider perfect interior design! All the different elements in your play on aestetics & mixture… no kidding I AM IN LOVE With THIS ENTIRE LIVING ROOM!! The beauty! Seriously your design of bringing modern lines of my favorite styles with the mid century modern and classic woods, and added the extra pop of mixed metals and glass chic and oh let’s not underplay the round coffee table!! The color pallet is honestly what I consider absolute perfection… clean, airy, crisp, cool blues, but added extra perfection with the Rich balanced warmth so it’s not too breezy/beach with that navy blue! I often draw inspiration from others designs, but this one made me want to imitate exactly; you are very talented!

It is tough to have flowers where we live in Texas. In the summer it is too hot, and in the spring it is too windy. My wife remedies this by having the plants inside, where they also wither and die!! I am pretty sure it is her, but I don’t have the heart to tell her. For the few weeks the plants are alive though, the house smells great.

Just found your blog and look forward to getting to know you over coffee! After taking a break, I will be adding quite a few new plants in our home! Taking care of them is good therapy!

I enjoy reading your blog and following your Instagram feed! In the spring I put away my darker throws, add fresh flowers when I can (Aldi’s has very affordable ones), and try to use the lighter decor items I already own. I don’t have a decor budget/funds so I like you use spring printable art in frames I already own. My mantel is always my centerpiece and I like to change it foyer each season and holiday.
Thank you for all your inspiration! Blessings to you,
    Danielle

Your bookcase is so masterfully designed with a unique combination of elements. Love all of the texture throughout your rooms. I could move in right now!

I love the look and the scent of fresh flowers for Spring! …and open those shades to let the sunshine in!
