A dash of neutral boho style for our bedroom

I’m so honored to be part of the BHG Live Better Influencer Network where, as a blogger, I’ve received compensation by Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart. The opinions stated in A dash of neutral boho style for our bedroom are my own. For more updates on their products and decor ideas, you can always follow them on FacebookPinterestTwitter and Instagram.

When we hear hear the words  “bohemian style”, we might think about a grandiose mix of vibrant colors and textures. That sense of freedom that  boho decor brings, can also be achieve by mixing it up with other styles. I wanted to try it at home, so I added a dash of neutral boho style for our bedroom. Let’s see how lush textiles can create a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

Layers over layers of textures

When it comes to decorating, my style is simple and effortless with a very strong taste for neutrals. So when I decided to try a dash of boho, I knew that textures were my to-go element of exploration. I found at Walmart some incredible pillows with a beautiful mix of textures. Many were made similar to macrame, while others had intricate patters made with sisal and decorative fringes. I chose the Aztec Cream Decorative Pillow, Handcrafted Fringed Loop Stripe Decorative Throw Pillow and the San Pablo Chevron Decorative Pillow all from Better Homes & Gardens at Walmart to add interest to my neutral boho experiment. What I loved about these pillows is their natural fibers and serene colors.

To add another layer of texture over our Knox Upholstered Platform Bed, I used the Pleated Diamond Quilt Collection by Better Homes & Gardens. The simplicity of this quilt makes it ideal to later on mix with other styles of pillows depending on the season. I always recommend to opt for a neutral comforter (or quilt in this case) to make a transitional decor.

Complementing the room

To complement the neutral boho look, I replaced my mismatched table lamps for two Better Homes & Gardens Stacked Glass Lamp. Their chevron patterned texture and gold rings added that chic final touch to this bedroom.

These nigh tables wouldn’t be done without some picture frames and knickknacks for styling. And for this purposed I’m using the Better Homes & Gardens  Gold Picture Frame and my favorite candle the Frosted Glass Smoky Gray Mist 14 oz. Candle.

Filing in those blank walls

Bohemian stands strong with the idea of “more is better”. While this might perfectly work if you’re trying to achieve this style in its pure form, I will tone it down with a small gallery wall.

For this focal wall I’ll be using nine Better Homes & Gardens 8×10/5×7 Rustic Wood Picture Frames with black and white photos. After finding the center of this wall, I placed my favorite picture there and from it, I started to build my grid. I separated each frame by 1″ and did three rows of three photos each. When finished, this gallery seemed more like a whole piece rather than individual frames because of its closeness. Love the many memories these photos can bring and special places we’ve visited.

As you can see when decorating it is okay to mix styles to create your own. Adding a dash of neutral boho style for our bedroom added personality to this room while keeping its welcoming and warm atmosphere. What decor style would you like to try in your home?
